Prelude Business Solutions Limited (“Prelude”, “we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect through this website, why, and your rights under the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019.

1. Data we collect

• Information you give us: when you submit the contact form, book a consultation or subscribe to our newsletter we collect your name, email address, phone number, company name, business size, budget range, preferred meeting details and anything you write in your message.
• Technical information: your IP address and the page you submitted a form from, used to prevent spam and abuse.
• Analytics: if enabled, anonymous usage statistics (pages visited, device type) through Google Analytics.

2. How we use your data

• To respond to your enquiry and arrange consultations (legal basis: your consent and steps prior to entering a contract).
• To send our newsletter, only if you subscribed. Every email lets you unsubscribe.
• To keep our website secure and prevent spam (legitimate interest).
• To meet legal, tax and regulatory obligations when you become a client.

We do not sell your personal data.

3. Sharing

We share data only with service providers that help us operate, such as our website host and email provider, under appropriate confidentiality and data-protection terms, or where the law requires it.

4. Retention

Enquiries that do not lead to an engagement are kept for up to 24 months and then deleted. Client records are kept for the periods required by Kenyan tax and company law. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe.

5. Your rights

Under the Data Protection Act, 2019 you may ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, object to or restrict its processing, withdraw consent at any time, and request data portability. You may also lodge a complaint with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC).

6. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures, including encrypted connections and access controls, to protect your data.

7. Cookies

This website does not use advertising cookies or tracking cookies, so we do not show a cookie banner. The only cookie we set is a strictly necessary login cookie for our own staff when they sign in to manage the blog; it is never set for visitors. You can manage or block cookies at any time in your browser settings.
